How to create a cross-platform match in PUBG

The PUBG Arena just got news! Starting with version 6.2 of Battle Royale, players on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4) can finally join the party and enjoy cross-platform games. The novelty allows the formation of cross-platform parties and simplifies the life of those who want to play online with friends. Below, we’ll show you how to create a cross-platform match in PUBG.

Before we start, it’s a warning: for now, the feature is limited to video games. PC gamers still don’t have access to cross-platform games (possibly because of the inequality between joystick and mouse and keyboard controls).

The new Cross Party Play function is available from version 6.2 of PUBG for Xbox and PS4. So make sure you are using the latest game update. After the update you will see 4 different tabs when you open the friends list.

The first is “platform”. This option shows your added friends for the platform you are currently playing, be it Xbox Live or PlayStation Network. The second tab is big news. It’s called “PUBG” and it lists all of your added contacts, including players from another platform.

To find your friends from other consoles, select the “Find Nickname” option. Then, navigate to the name of the person you want to add and choose the Follow or Follow option, depending on the language selected for the game.

When you go through the new tabs of the PUBG friends list, we have a “Recent” option. It lists all of the players who recently joined your roster. Finally, the Teams tab has all of the nicknames of your current teammates, which makes it easy to organize the game.

To enable the cross-platform match feature, just add contacts to the same party and search for a match. So easy!

Other new functions in version 6.2

A big surprise was the introduction of Team Deathmatch for 8v8 players. The MME has a more dynamic system that gets players back into combat in much less time.

Here, the player’s energy bar fills up with every assist or kill carried out or every five seconds without taking any further damage. The team that first kills 50 will be declared the winner of the game. If no one gets that number in 10 minutes, the one with the most kills wins.

While there is no official position from PUBG Corp, many people speculate that this limitation is due to the advantage PC gamers have during games. There are several high-end computer peripherals such as mice and gamer keyboards that allow for a much faster response time than Xbox and PS4 controllers.
